1201 Hobo Stew
A scrap quilt of interpretations of the secret language of riding the rails, part of the American story of 1880-1940. It is machine pieced and appliqued. It is machine quilted, primarily "in the ditch" to preserve the design. The meaning of each symbol is written on the reverse side of each block. The quilt is based on the book, Hobo Quilts, by Debra Henninger.
